Varieties of Translation

Technical

Technical translation covers specific areas such as the translation of computer manuals, or instructions and operating handbooks for industrial or agricultural machinery, home appliances, surgical equipment, or any other device.

Sworn

The documents translated under this variety of translation, which may be contracts, patents, corporate by-laws, academic records, deeds, powers, certificates, etc., are to have bearing before official entities, such as the judicial administration, ministries, notaries, banks, etc. They can only be prepared by sworn translators, properly registered on the lists of the relevant country. In Catalonia, there are two possible certifications: that of the Generalitat (Autonomous Government of Catalonia) and the Spanish government. Judicial

It shares fields with sworn translation, but it is done in those cases where the signature by the official sworn translator is not needed.

Literary

Here translation efforts are devoted to texts, articles, works of prose or poetry. It is one of the most creative, delicate ambits of translation, requiring a keen sensitivity on the part of the translator. Koinós has collaborators whose work in this field has won them deserved fame.

Reading translation
